More information is needed. It will depend on where you live. In the US, you can generally only be harassed if it is directly related to your race, gender, religion, age (40+) or national origin. All those complaints must first go through the EEOC (free of charge) before you can sue. |

When they actually harass you (many people have no idea what that word means, I might add), when the harassment causes you actual monetary damages, and when the resulting damages are worth the time, effort, and stress of pursuing it. |

In agreement with both posters; however, you DO NOT have to go through the EEOC to pursue any of those grounds. You can go directly through a private attorney and you may later decide to go through the EEOC which is a disgusting long process. If it is a strong enough case there is no reason to go through the EEOC who only take on a small handful of cases and those they decide to litigate themselves is for self-serving purposes to some degree and the case must be so overwhelming that the grounds are "...causing public harm." EEOC vs. Lockheed Martin in the state of Maryland. Decided on January of 2007 is a perfect example. |
