NO it will NOT..........

the only way to get exact dates of employment is to call the employers and ask if they still have that information....
in general an employer should keep personnel files for at least 3 years after termination (it varies by state from no requirement up to 7 years).

By some chance do you have copies of past IRS taxes you filed? Most people will keep at least 5 years. When you file, you also received a W-2 that shows the employers wages that you worked that year. Even if you did not pay taxes, you would file showing you did not make enough to pay.

So say one year you worked for McDonald's and also for Rite Aid, would have 2 W2s. On your resume, could show ;
McDonald's 2006
Rite Aid 2006

Employers are not looking so much for specific dates, especially in your case since going to school and working would be a plus. Your resume would also show your College, degree and year graduated

Indiana University
Bachelor in Science 2010

Or think thu each year thu college, your Freshman year did you work at school or only during holidays and summer,etc.

One last thing you can do that might help. Run your credit check and it is free.

Many times employers will run your credit, not always, and would show the year that they did.

I dont think you need the exact dats usually they ask for month and yr and you dont have to put everyone and if you have worked alot then i would say put the most recent and the ones that lasted the longest!!

I have spent the last year 2 years researching and testing background check services for a consumer review site (http://www.CompleteReviews.net ) and in that time have run tons of background checks using many different companies. Background checks will absolutely not report anything about your employment history. They basically provide address history, criminal history, court records (law suits, bankruptcy, etc), known associates/relatives, and a few other things. If you simply remember "about" when you worked each job that will be completely fine with employers. I had several college jobs as well and I just picked the most important ones and made the dates match up. I am sure I was accurate to within a few months but certainly not exactly right. You might even just report the year and leave out the month. Perspective employers will only care what kind of experience you had and for approximately how long.

How I Ran A Background Check And Found Some Serious Sh**!! You can just run a background check on yourself. It is really easy to do. I used a website and they had lots of info on everything. I was SURPRISED! I also found out that my handyman was a criminal and spent time in prison for selling drugs!! There was also a listing for marriage certificates, bankruptcy, death records and a bunch of other stuff.
