Where can I get experience in the law?

I am 15 and hoping to peruse a career in Law, hopefully family law. As I am only 15 is there anyway for me to get some knowledge or hands on experience with family law or any type?
Also I'm based in Liverpool, UK

You're doing it now! But you can also visit websites for UK-based legal libraries or even visit the libraries yourself. If the UK has an equivalent of LexisNexis (we use here in the U.S.), find it. Study the big court cases and why they were decided the way they were. You will learn the terminology as you study them. Learn to speedread too. I would even take a class in speedreading. If you can read quickly and internalize what you read, you are going to be far ahead of the rest of your law classes when the time comes.
Lastly, don't get discouraged by all the legalese and complexity in the legal documents. You have to crawl before you can walk before you can run (be a lawyer). Most people haven't a clue about what legal documents say, so a positive attitude is the key here. |

Offer to help out in a local solicitor's office in your area for a month or so over the Summer. You would have to do it for free but you would learn a lot, and it would look great on your CV. You could help with photocopying, getting coffees etc. but you would pick up all kinds of information. I'd go and visit them and introduce yourself and take a copy of your CV to leave with them. |
