Seriously speaking though, there are a few; however, most aren't high paying, farming, menial work, construction workers, some trucking companies, telemarketing, and he/she can always start a small business. |

I don't know where you live, but there is this program called "The Leo program" it's for ex-cons. I would suggest you check with your local Unemployment Office. Or maybe the Department of Labor. |

The best bet for an ex-con is probably self-employment.
After that, I'd say they need to make personal contacts with family and friends, and network their way to someone who makes the hiring decisions for a company, and can establish some kind of personal rapport with them, and get hired even with the record.
For example... I probably wouldn't hire an ex-con over another candidate if he just came in my office and applied, but if he were the nephew of someone I did a lot of business with, that would make a difference. I think pretty much all humans are the same on that.
So he needs to build his own "old boy" network. That's precisely how Bill Clinton got to be President, and it's how Obama got where he is so far. If they can do that, then one felon can do it well enough to find a decent job. |
