I've recently accepted a new job - BUT the Conditions of Employment say that according to my Offer Letter I'd accepted that I had a full driving license. The thing is that my Offer Letter didn't mention anything about this!
I have a driving license - but it's probably illegal as it's from an old address. I intend to update it but can they say turn me down because of this?

Get your licence address changed as soon as possible. I don't think it will be illegal and I doubt the new company would revoke the job offer... Just tell them that you are in the process of changing your address on it... It isn't as if you have lied about it... you HAVE a FULL driving licence! Good luck :) |

Unless you've done something since moving that's caused you be disqualified from driving then you're still entitled to drive and will be issued with a new licence when you advise DVLA of your new address.
If you failed to advise DVLA that you moved you *have* technically broken the law but DVLA won't treat it as such unless have reason to contact you and have been unable to.
If you *do* have a full driving license and are entitled to drive you've not lied during the application. Having a diffrent address on your licence shouldn't affect your job offer. |

Don't worry about it. Legally, yes, a driving licence does need to show your current address, but it will only take two weeks (if that) to get a new one. So change it NOW.
If the employer wants to see your licence before you manage to get a new one, I would simply say "I've recently moved house and I've had to return my licence to the DVLA to be updated - I'll provide it to you as soon as my new one is issued".
They will not refuse to hire you on these grounds. |

its no big deal to update your license,is it illegal?if its past 30 days since you moved yes,but its not a criminal offense.just tell your job you have a valid license but you have to change your address...good luck |
