Who do you call to stop collection calls made to your job?

I am late on a bill but I have heard that collection offices cannot call your job. They call me 8-12 times a day! Obviously I realize the bill is late and I have talked to them about it and have asked them not to call my work, what can I do to stop the calls until I get the bill paid?

honestly be nice to a person and answer their calls when they call somewhere else. or lie and tell them you are not working at that location any more. |

You must write a cease and desist letter to the bill collector to stop them from making the phone calls. You can specify whether the calls should not be made to your job or your home. All requests for payment will then be made by mail. |

Speak to your telephone provider and see if you can get your work number blocked from those particular collection agencies. In Australia they are not allowed to contact you by phone ,only mail. |

Talk to your supervisor, who can contact the company and tell them not to call at work anymore as it is disrupting the workplace. They are required by law to stop calling.
I was a laboratory manager who had a young employee who was getting calls at work in the evening. I happened to be working late when this was brought to my attention, so the next time the collector called, I took the call. I had already done some research on this and knew the law and I informed the caller to stop calling. He got pretty ignorant with me and hung up. So, the next day, I tracked down the company and called them and explained to the senior manager what had happened. They never again contacted my employee either at work or at her home. |

tell them they cannot call you at work. they can call you anywhere else but not at work if you state that. now here's a trick, one they call just answer one time. that will stop the calls for the day. plus if you give them a definite day you will pay, that will stop the calls. unless you fail to pay as agreed upon. |
