Why worry? Seriously which one gets paid more bec both professions are very well paid in the six figure salaries and require a lot of intelligence and recommendations just getting into medical school or law school. Then after years of expensive loans and education & training, you must pass CERTIFICATION TESTS.
Bottomline the chances or opportunities of getting just into MEDICAL SCHOOL or LAW SCHOOL are slim that are available only for the ELITE WALK ON WATER STUDENTS!
FYI I had an uncle (my Father's youngest brother in family of 10 who went through CATHOLIC SCHOOLs and then FLUNKED GERMAN at MARQUETTE while studying to be doctor (his wife is physical therapist) but my Uncle ended up being a rich lawyer. I also have a coworker whose younger brother played college basketball, had degree in Accounting but couldn't pass CPA and ended up becoming a lawyer.
GOOD LAWYERS like our next door neighbor whose name is in the local newspaper making sizable political contributions have the GIFT OF GAB on their feet and are excellent debaters that will entrap you into YES or NO in the courtroom. They also have to read and comprehend volumes of case law... |

Depends on lots of things.
First year associates in my firm get $160K plus bonus. Partners earn $400K plus year-end split.
However, we are top of the food chain. I know lots of so-called lawyers struggling to make $50K.
On average, doctors make more and have a far better life. If I had it to do over, it would be dermatology. |
