I'm going to have to agree with the other posters that posted before me. They have all good information for you. Being pretty, smart and a nice person isnt going to 'cut the mustard'. You're going to have to show them that you can do the job. The other person interviewing you doesnt know you from the next guy. You need to stand out from the others, communicate to them that you can do the job. Confidence is a virtue! Good luck!

You need more than being pretty, nice and smart to get a job. There are many people that are pretty, nice, and smart. Hate to break it to you, but you are not the only one that meets that description. See it from the business end. Do you want pretty, smart, and nice to work for you or someone that will bring in the money and be productive. When a business depends on sales or production, they want someone that can do the job.

You need to work on selling your self on the interview. They need to believe that you are the person for the job, that you bring something that they could use or would benefit them. What type of job are you looking for?? Why do you think that you failed the interviews. There are many sights online that help on improving your interviewing skills and how to sell yourself. Persevere. Contrary to the cliche, first impressions are often wrong. It could be your personality type or confidence are issues. (Sadly recruiters often recruit in their own image-on gut feel).

Being pretty, smart and nice is more than most can ask ;-)

Right now it is tough to get a job. Companies are so concerned with the bottom line that they are laying off people as an immediate drop in expenses. A lot of jobs of being sent to other countries where the jobs are done cheaper. It isn't just you.

You did not "fail" the job interviews, it just wasn't a good match. Job interviews are not a pass fail issue. Sometimes the nicest person applies, but they do not have what the employer is looking for. It is like dating you can go out with the best looking man who drives a Corvette and has lots of money, but there is just not match -- so do not look at it as failing.

My suggestion is that you keep trying. Each time you interview you are gaining experience in what an employer is looking for in the interview. Look at the type of job you are interested in -- ask yourself what can I bring to that job and then sell yourself in the interview. Maybe you should consider trying for another type of job? Either way not being accepted on only 2 interviews is nothing to worry about. Many of us have gone on lots more than 2 interviews before we found the perfect job. Good luck.

Girl friend, if you are pretty, nice and smart, then why on earth are you sad??? And with those qualities, no way in hell are you a loser. Push the fact that you are willing to do what it takes, and are a quick learner. And since you have those 3 natural winning qualities, wear them with pride and confidence!

On an application NEVER reveal anything that can hurt you. such as being FIRED, too many months in between companies and even if you need a friend to answer the phone and say they are your supervisor or boss DO IT. NEVER lie meaning never say you have skills you don't , but NEVER reveal anything that can hurt you. If your Bosses or Owners of those campanies revealed everything about them selves back in the days they started they would have never been owners or TOP Managers. Only Listen to self-improvement audio programs such as "GET THE EDGE" by Tony robbins and "The Automatic Millionaire" by David back. you can buy them on EBAY for 35% to 45% off retail price. Always be open to what other have to say and take action.

Dear Sad Girl,

The fact that you are pretty and nice not necessarily in that order are things that won't get you a job. You should NOT feel like a loser. The market (despite our Government proclaiming otherwise) is very bad right now. I have been unemployed for four months myself. I know MANY people out of work. Many of the jobs are snapped up by people way over qualified. What you should do is find something that you love and pursue a position doing that. Lets say you love clothes, then try and find a job selling clothes. Start your own little business cleaning or mowing peoples yards or something along those lines. Find out what professionals charge for their services and then charge something comparable for the service. Good Luck! You are a WINNER and if you project that it will help!
