You have 2 insurance one for disability and one for medical insurances that is the reason for paying for 2 insurance company.

The disability is in case an injury happens are you cannot work they will pay you a percentage of your salary.

Medical is anything relating to your health such as doctor's visits medicine, etc.

very different insurances. may be you can ask UHC and see if they have a disability plan.

If I understand the question, both insurance companies probably paid the healthcare costs incurred from your injuries. Therefore, they should be reimbursed for the expenses they were not obligated to pay as the accident or cause of injury was not your fault. The person paying the lawsuit is actually reimbursing you for the healthcare costs incurred. Anything extra is for permanent injury that you will deal with going forward.

Also, you probably did not pay as much as they paid the healthcare providers.
