David is on the right track. Remember its all about what they need - not why you want the job. Tell them what you could do for them - and be specific: I could be valuable asset to the team because I could (fill in the blank). Give them your skills (I can type x wpm - I have advanced skills in x computer programs - I could provide excellent customer service - I could deal with difficult customers, etc. Don't tell them because I want to work close to home, I want to be in a job where I can get promoted, I want to work in this industry etc. They don't care what you want just what you could do for them immediately. |

This is very common job interview question. Be direct and to the point. Talk about the skills you have and also relate your past positive work experiences. It is always good to talk about past compliments you have received from previous managers.
