Will I be able to get a job with my criminal record?

3yr.s ago I was convicted for being under the influence of a controlled substance and I also have a battery charge as well that's only 6mo.s old and they are both misdemeanors.I'm just worried that my stupidity has screwed my life up,is their any hope for me or am I screwed?Does anyone know of any company's that hire people with criminal records or that don't background check in the Victorville,CA. area or any near by cities?PLEASE HELP.....

Its going to be hard, applly for jobs that seek out personal references but not criminal and you will be OK

You'll be okay. Most companies are only concerned with felonies. And if they do ask for misdemeanors they only ask for about 4 years back. You'll be able to get a good job don't worry about it.

Whatever you do, don't lie on application, they will find it, so be honest and they will respect you for it. But only give info they ask for, nothing more.

A misdemeanor in of itself is not grounds for denial of employment opportunities unless the misdemeanor is directly related to the issue of moral turpitude, thievery, assault, etc.

Good luck!

remeber taht every job application askes if you've been convicted of a crime. If you lie and they find out you will be fired or not accepted for the job. If you're honest you may not even get an interview. It a tough situation to be in. I have the same problem and found even getting interviews is a challenge. I just started a great at home internet based business and I'm already making money. I don't have to worry about anyone else or my past coming back to haunt me. Don't worry yourself about it. Misdemeanors are not their concerned. Although you battery charge does come across as violence, its only a misdemeanor. I am in the same boat, but I have a felony conviction. Its for grand theft, and I do have trouble with finding a job. The good thing is that after some time, you can have it pardon by requesting the court to remove it. Just stay out of trouble from now on. You should find a decent job. Remember, no matter what your past has been, your future is spotless.
