It depends on how in depth the company is going to research your background. The funny thing is only 20-30 percent of companies actually do a background check, and use it to coerce you to tell unsavory things about yourself.
Your best bet is to contact Chex Systems and see if they have a record on you. go to http://www.passchecking.com/faq.php#report and follow the appropriate directions. If they don't have a report on you then you have nothing to worry about. |

Yes if you are going to work for the FBI or CIA or NSA.
Anywhere that money can interfere with your judgement and your ability to carry out your duties as expected by your government agency.
This might not totally destroy your ability to work for the agency in question, but you had better be forthcoming as to why the situations occured and show that you currently have a handle on your finances so that you can be considered trustworthy. Take Care-Rachel. |

Probably not.
The exception might be if you are going to be responsible for handling money. Even then, the bad checks are going to be of almost no consequence if they are small and, if there is no indication that you have ever stolen any money, again - a few bad checks seems like you might be bad at keeping track of your balance - hardly a problem unless you are an accountant.
If they are large - and you don't get the job, consider how you might handle this in the future.
But, again, I emphasize, this is really a small problem. Very few people are perfect, and a few bad checks are nothing compared to the things I have seen. Don't worry! |
