If it was public intox it shouldnt matter they ask you about it let them know that phase of your life is over now.

MOST employers look past alcohol related matters unless it is in the industry or if they are hiring you to drive. Make sure you can speak to it and NEVER LIE about it. We use great companies to do our background checks and we see pretty much everything. Be prepared to be up front about it.

You might want to be honest with your potential employer up front and explain it was a "phase" before they run the check. You might also explain that you weren't charged with any other crime (including with DUI) because even drunk you knew better.

To a certain extent people that are dealing with children are expected to be role models so for the particular job you are seeking this might in fact be seen as a big negative.

Have totally been there, was wild a while myself thank God it's over.... had some alcohol related charges... possesion by minor and on a state park, neither of which kept me from getting a job... was worried about it but it made no difference... had a background check done when I went to work for the county Board of Education. So I don't think you will have anything to worry about. I

no but be upfront and tell them you had a dui. maybe you were younger and it can be forgiven.

Most likely, because people with a history of alcohol/drug abuse shouldn't be working around children.

If it got so bad that you had to be arrested, then it was BAD.

PS: There is no such charge as alcohol intoxication...sounds more like you were charged with "drunk in public"...and you pretty much have to be falling down for them to arrest you for that.
