Work 8hrs and dont get a lunch break, what to do (read on)?

I work as a cashier at a parking lot. I'm full time, have benefits and my wage isnt bad. However i dont get breaks or a lunch break. HOWEVER im not really busy unless it's rush hour and that's 3 hours out of my entire 8hrs. I just sit at a booth and take cash. What i've been doing is i take my food and eat at the booth but someone told that's illegal. I live in the state of iowa so... am i getting screwed? (if i am at least i wish it was by a handsome young blond -.-)

Iowa does not mandate breaks or rest periods for adults.
Federal law also does not.
