No offense, but you could be there 3 years and 1 day and they do not have to give you any type of notice if they decide to terminate you. The majority of states are Employee-At-Will. Meaning you can be terminated without cause or reason and you can leave without cause or reason. If you are not in the USA.... Obviously this may not apply. No idea what happens outside of my territory or care.

They don't need to give u any notice. Although it's normally a week, they can just fire you straight away as long as they pay you five day's holiday time assuming you haven't taken any holiday. If you've taken your holidays they don't need to pay you for the week you lose. That's what happened to me.

Depends on which country you are in.
In the UK, it depends on your written terms and conditions. In the absence of these (which is unlawful anyway), the statutory minimum notice period on either side is one week.

It really depends on where you live. Some states are "work at will" states...and they are not required to give you any notice.

It depends on what the reason is for dismissal. As others stated, if you live/work in an at-will state they don't have to give you any kind of notice of termination.

If it is a lay off and there are others involved there may be some different kinds of requirements for notice.
