Your boss is an absolute moron. If he's the manager, he's responsible to know this information. Managers who are unaccountable for their actions need employees to speak up and to their above managers. If you're accountable hold your manager accountable. |

It sounds like your company has a policy that allows you to opt out of working on a religious holiday. This policy would be specific to your company and you should talk to the HR department if your boss is not sure of the policy. |
