Hey so I'm going to get a part time job at Tesco (a huge supermarket chain in the UK) and was wandering if it were possible to put unwanted clubcard points on my own clubcard when working at the tills. This would allow me to get 1000's of points very quickly which you can exchange for discounts or prizes. Is this even possible and if it is is it legal.

I mean people who buy things but don't bother with clubcard or don't have a card etc. Could I put them on my own card. x

Is it worth getting fired? because thats what will happen.
I know its not harming anyone but tesco will notice sooner or later that a member of staff is reaping a hell of a lot of points.
Imagine the shame when your co workers find out, they may even suspect you of more .
I mean you know there are camera's everywhere.
Just forget about it. |

It would be illegal, but I'm sure Tesco would be furious if you did that. It would mess up their EPOS system, because they would think you had been buying all the stuff other customers had. What would be the point...you could end up with coupons for Nappies! |

That is illegal and you would likely be dismissed from your job at the very least should you do that.
Fraud and theft is the name for it.
If you were a customer and you asked someone who didn't have their clubcard with them (or have a clubcard at all) if you could have their points, or they simply offered you them, then you could have the cashier place them on your card. But you couldn't just take them of your own accord, without their permission or knowledge. And the fact that you are an employee makes it worse. You would be taking advantage of your position to gain from the customers. Plus, you wouldn't be able to prove that you didn't just neglect to give someone their points just so that you could add points to your own card. |

No, I think Tesco would have a problem with that,
they may even consider it stealing
I wouldn't advise doing it because it will get you fired! |

The whole point of the clubcard is so that Tesco can track and trace customers habits to enable them to give a better shopping experience. What you suggest doing totally screws the whole idea behind the clubcard and is also fraud. |
