Workman's comp & quitting

With a workman's comp case, if you quit your job do they still have to pay for all the doctors visits and physical therapy appts.?

Any medical related costs associated with the injury they will be paid for. The company you are currently working for usually does not pay the hospital/doctor bills. Workers Comp. does, and the company pays rates each year based on the number of OHSA recordable injuries. If you quit or get fired, the costs will still be covered. |

That all depends on the laws in your state. I know I got injured at a job in the state of Georgia. My employer treated me like crap. He even cussed me out of the phone! I was ready to say cram it! I called a workman's comp lawyer to find out if my employer was legally obligated to pay for my medical treatment if I quit. The lawyer said that they were in the state of Georgia. Then the lawyer advised me to sue the compnay. I went ahead and went back to work. I was advised my lawyer not to discuss or let them know that I had a lawyer. I worked 3 weeks for that company. I had a nice settlement. I was out of there before it even went to court. My advice to you. Call a worker comp lawyer for the laws in your state. Sue the heck out of your job if you can. |
