Find answers to your legal question.

Would having a UK Police caution prevent you from working in the USA?

I don't mean moving there permanently, just visiting occasionally for work related things like meetings and projects etc

no..If the police have issued you with a caution...it's gone no further than that.... It has not gone to the CPS or PF or court.

so there is no lasting record of it.

Highly unlikely, unless you are working on something sensitive or for the government

This is not a full answer to your question but is to correct an earlier answer.
Accepting a Police Caution is equivalent to pleading guilty to the offence. Police cautions are recorded on the Police National Computer. They are deleted after 5 years if there have been no further convictions or cautions.

Some travellers may not be eligible to enter the United States visa free under the VWP. These include people who have been arrested, even if the arrest did not result in a criminal conviction, those with criminal records, (the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act does not apply to U.S. visa law), certain serious communicable illnesses, those who have been refused admission into, or have been deported from, the United States, or have previously overstayed on the VWP. Such travellers must apply for special restricted visas. If they attempt to travel without a visa, they may be refused entry into the United States.

The fact you were only cautioned and not taken to court would mean that it was not considered serious.

However that are some things you need to be aware of.

If it was a caution for drugs the US do not treat this as a minor matter, and may refuse entry.
