already stated what the salary would be.

I don't think it hurts to ask unless, besides the salary being clearly stated, you also requested on an application or somewhere the same salary. This is assuming you have some experience or qualities that you would use as a basis for negotiation. Perhaps asking for a salary review after 3 months on the job if it cannot be negotiated now.
Good luck. |

It's always appropriate to negotiate a salary. If you feel you're worth more, just say it. But, don't be obnoxious about it or snotty. Always be professional in both manner and dress and it you're as qualified as you think you are, don't be afraid to go for it. You may have to be prepared to take a step back, though, and let them see your true talents through your performance. |

Yes, it's always okay to do that.
If you feel as though there is a certain salary level that you deserve, and can justify it with your qualifications, then go ahead and negotiate.
The source of the job is irrelevant. |

With companies outsourcing salaries and salaries decreasing in the US regardless of your experience and educational background if it was stated in an add, that is what they are paying, that would more than likely not leave room open for negotiating. You would need to make a decision yourself on how bad you need the job. Sometimes you have to take whats offered to you and continue to look for something else in times like these we are not always going to get the salary the we feel we deserve |

Everything is negotiable: you could always argue that your experience exceeds the description in the ad so you thought it worth mentioning. |
