Would it be possible for a lawyer to work flexibly?

I want to become a lawyer but also want to have kids. Is it possible to work , say, 7-3pm? Or to come into the office at 9am, then pick up his kids at 3pm and then finish work from home?
Or see clients in the morning and work do paperwork and things at home?

Thankyou!!

Depends on the firm you work for. If you work for yourself no problem at all. Have your terms well document in any contract you sign with a firm so they can not come back and deny your needs at a later time.

Have you already gone to law school? Or taken the LSAT? Law school is very time consuming. But, most schools have flexible schedules after your get past L1.

As for work schedule, it does depend on where you work. Most firms are pretty flexible because you don't get clients if you aren't there. It really sounds like you would be better off as a paralegal, legal secretary, or a law clerk. I think you need to do more research on what it is to be a lawyer. Talk to local lawyers and people in the legal field. Get a real grasp on what the local norm is for where you are.

I'm currently pre-law and my plans for after law school are to work as legal counsel for a couple of businesses (one of which has already agreed to pay half my law school tuition). Having positions like those I would not need to be in the office daily, and will mostly work from home. I will be on call and go in as needed. That may be the kind of situation you are looking for. If it is, I'd talk to some local companies and see if they would be interested in hiring you after you pass the bar. If any of them agree to help with tuition, be sure to get it in writing!
