If you are in your probationary period, you are not yet considered a regular employee, so, yes, they can terminate you with or without cause.

I would suggest a couple of things,,,,

First, understand that your termination may not have been due to you per se, but due to your inability to perform the work because of your accident. Your employer needs to carry on with his business and cannot do so if your position is vacant. I would encourage you to reapply to them when you are healthy.

Second, regardless of where you will work, get on with your life. Do not bottle up any hatred or malcontent for this employer. They are only doing what they have to in order to carry on their business. Besides, as Don Henley sings, you keep carrying 'round that anger, it'll only eat you up inside.

With your back in a brace, you will have great difficulty securing a job, however, you might contact a job rehabilitation placement agency who might be able to assist you landing at least a temporary position.

Well most states are a hire and fire at will state which means that they don't need a reason to fire anyone. That is really low what happened with you though, but I would expect nothing less from some of these corporations. Try to file for unemployment.
