EDIT:
just to clarify many states are NOT "right-to-work" states and if they were it would be irrelevant... r-t-w has to do with union representation and non union workers in union shops....
"at-will" employment has to do with reasons for separation and that fact that a reason is not required..........
all states practice "at-will" employment, in 49 states it is assumed that all employment is at-will unless otherwise stated, in Montana it is NOT assumed but is applicable if the policy is clearly stated. |

When you are employed, you start an employee-employer contract. If part of the contract requires to to disclose all of your employment history before commencing work, failure to disclose previous employment history leads to a fallacy in the original premise and may void the contract.
Whether your employer bothers to take action/cares about it enough to fire you is a different matter, but it does provide him/her with grounds to. |
