I had Bronchitis a few weeks ago, went to the doctor, received a medical note to stay home a few days since I had absolutely no voice and a deadly cough. I work at a day care with little children, so its hard to stay healthy with so many runny noses around, plus if you're sick they don't want you there, the same rule goes for the children if your sick you stay home. I started to cough up blood and the main boss told me to go to the hospital and get it checked out. The bronchitis is getting better but not gone, doctor says i should take a week off and get fully recovered or it could become a more serious problem. The second boss in charge tells me if i don't get better the company will have to move on?( Hypothetical, what would happen if i changed out bronchitis for cancer? get better or get fired?) I was just threatened to be fired in front of a witness, if i do what the doctor's note says and take about a week off. Now i have the choice of working and keeping job while coughing up every color of the rainbow or take the time off to heal and possibly lose my job? Anything illegal here? I'm in Canada by the way.
