i have been to alot of places in my county that are ignoring the child labor laws they are letting minors work without a permit....what should i do i checked online all over and everything i read said my state dosent let minors 14-15 16/17 work without a permit and the places i want to apply to are letting me work without one im getting frustrated and confused whats going on? i even went to the government center in my county and she said i didnt need one-im 14- THIS IS ILLEGAL should i report all of those places?...
they are jumba juice,DQ,coldstone,mcdonalds they are all willing to let me work without a workers permit this is illegal!!!

Minnesota only requires work permits for minors who are working DURING school hours
you do NOT need a permit for a summer job or any job if you do NOT work during school hours.....

where are you?
many states do not require work permits for minors and some of the ones that do require them only do so while school is in session. i don't know why you would go to the "government center" in your county since work permits are generally issued through the school system and in the states that don't issue them through the schools they are obtained directly from the department of labor, the county has absolutely nothing to do with work permits for minors.........
if you want an accurate answer as to whether or not you need a permit edit the question to include your age and the location but as answered already large corporations generally follow child labor laws very closely........ |

Here are the federal laws... there may be no need for a permit as long as you are only employed within the lawful limits. I'm not sure.
