I really don't think she'll need or expect a gift. But if you feel it's necessary to give her one I would suggest just simple red roses. There is no gift that is more symbolic of love.

I am retired Navy, so i my husband.

While on the ship when in a port I would pick something up he likes
and give that to him when I come back.

When I was in port and he came back, I would cook his favorite meals. and give him of course the love stuff (S..x) lol

Something from where you were.... something to show her that while you were in another place, you were thinking of her. So when she sees it she will think of that place too... and how you thought of her while you were there, and how you are home safe now. I AM GOING TO CRY NOW! Your wife is lucky. You should KNOW her personality, and know what she likes. Buy her something that reminds you of her.

Asking us will only make the gift seem even MORE impersonal. But, you are a sweetheart for trying to buy her something nice. Points for that. However, I advise you to give something that you know she will cherish forever.

if i hadnt seen my bf in months, i would hope he would show up holding a really cute teddy bear. i'm not the flower type, but long-stem roses are really good too. she's gonna want to see you more than anything so just something sweet is good. does she have a favorite chocolate? my bf knows that belgium chocolates are my favorite and he always gets me them for valentines, even if thats all we do (i ususally have to work) it seems really sweet cause he knows what i like

A single red rose would be great......When she goes into the shower or to the other room for a few minutes put on your fav. song and get some rose petals and sprinkle them on the bed with candles lit and a nice bottle of wine

Is there anything that she collects that you could get from the area where you have been. Something like bells, plates, or vases that have something to do with the culture of that place. Or maybe a teddy bear for her to hold when your away. (Maybe wearing a uniform.) Something that would remind her of you. Or maybe a collection of pictures that would be special to the both of you. Like a picture of the places you sat when you wrote to her, or the phone booths that you called her from, with the scenery in the background that shows where you were. You may need to save the pictures for next time when you had time to get up a collection. Good Luck and thank you for what you do for us all.

Thats really tricky. The best gift I could want in that situation is to know that my husband loved me and thought of me.... Show her the picture (I'm hoping you had one) of her that you carried with you....That for me would do it.

That is so sweet. Perfume always goes down well with me, a nice bottle of perfume. Get her some nice lingerie as well, make her feel special, and tell her how much you love her, that will mean a hell of a lot to her.
