Am I right at how I am taking this or am I just clueless?

Due to the recent state of economy I found myself going back to school to make myself a better candidate ( I guess a Bachelors Degree and being a Honorable USAF Vet just doesn't cut it anymore )

Anyways I am 29 been married for 8 years and have 3 children. We are like any couple have been at each others throats from time to time but have worked out or difference and everything is great for the most part.

Now like I said I'm in school and I believe I have this 19 year old chasing after me. She is extremely flirtatious, always inviting me to sit with her at lunch between lecture and labs and if I'm not going down the right hall or whatever she'll ask me where I'm going.

Now this may just be her being friendly but I think she might want to take it further I don't know I've been out of the game for to long. I would never cheat on my wife and made it very clear to everyone in the class I talk with I am married

Am I wrong to take these advances then more then just being friendly or am I so out of touch ?

No I'm not in Graduate School I am taking a EMT Class as well as Conversational Spanish

I have changed my interest from Law Enforcement to Medicine but I am still highly interested in being a first responder so this is why I am in a class with a 19 year old

I'm a veteran who is also back in school. It's pretty weird, huh? Totally different world.
I've run into similar situations before. You sound like you're happily married, and the girl knows about it. Maybe she wants to be your friend because you're 'safe' - you won't try to hit on her, ect...so there's no pressure on her end.
I would also mention something fun you did with your wife during one of your talks and see how she reacts. If she really wants to be just friends she should be OK with it.
Besides, if you are never going to cheat on your wife, you've got nothing to worry about. YOU know when things get inappropriate, and so YOU can stop them well before they get out of hand.

You are smart to take these advances as something more than being friendly! You need to be a bit "chilly" toward her. When she asks where you're going, say something like "I'm going to check on something for my wife" or "I'm going to call my wife and see if she's having a good day". Try to put distance between the two of you whenever you get a chance. Make friends with some guy in your class and then sit with him!

She's just trying to be nice, most likely thinks your attractive. You can talk and hang out with her as a FRIEND at college but don't take her out to lunch or anything as a FRIEND. If your wife sees you, it'd be really hard to explain yourself. Especially because the chick is younger than her, she'd think your cheating. But be careful, if you end up talking to her a lot and you two get along pretty well. Your feelings may change slowly. Being married for 9 years can sometimes make you "wonder".. Good luck.

thats hard to say without exactly knowing what was said and all the body language etc that goes along with it. just try to distance yourself from her and if she asks why just be honest and say that you thought she may have feelings for you and so you thought it best to stay away.

Im in a very similar life stage to you, so Im out of the game too, but I pick the 'she's being more than friendly' option. Im very honest though and usually run along home and tell my spouse that I think someone fancies me or that I think someone is handsome.

Yes. It does sound like she has a little crush.
Avoid her. If the wrong person see's that she's flirting with you, they may go to your wife, and that will be a huge battle, and the only way that she'd feel safe, is if you quit your classes.

Well, if she knows that you are married, then i guess it can only get as far as you let it. You have the power there, and besides, if you aren't hooking up outside of school, then there is no chance of it getting anywhere.

If you have a Bachelors, then you must be in graduate school. So, there is a 19 yo in your graduate classes? That would be pretty weird!

Bottom line: I only think about where the other person may be coming from if I am interested. You started out describing a less than stellar marriage, and you're wanting validation that someone else is coming onto you. Uh huh, we both know you're interested.

I have noticed a few situations like this, and for the most part, I just pretend to be oblivious. It's easier for everyone! Very few people have been bold enough to call me out of my faux oblivion, lol, so it works well.

Good Luck with your coursework. The Bachelors is the new high school diploma. It's a minimum; you gotta go beyond that these days.

Really doesn't matter much about her advances does it? As a military man you should know that the key elements to advances are strength, manuevrability, and surprise. The best defense to an advance is a counter-attack. So either you take this 19 year old on the counter of your kitchen, or you squash her like the enemy.
