I get upset too, if that is all he does. I actually had a talk with him about this the other day. I dont mind him playing video games, as long as he does stuff with me too. So this weekend, he is going to take me out on a date. Try playing the game with him. My hubby is going to teach me how to play Gears of War. So at least I can hang out with him while he plays. Guys need their guy time too, and at least with video games you know they arent out fooling around on you. |

Figure it this way, he's loving a game instead of another woman or man. Unless he's not working, not looking for employment, or not taking care of the house, there is nothing wrong with a man blowing off a little steam every now and again.
Being with my boyfriend (who is into every type of electronic and other game on the market) for six wonderful and not so wonderful years, I have found that getting involved with what he was doing every now and again was a positive thing.
Also, I have found that developing my own interests and not revolving my world around him 24/7 was important and kept my frustration and clingyness to a minimum.
Setting limits on play time is important. No holidays, birthdays, no anniversaries, etc.
Men are like little boys. Let him have his fun. The more you get mad and disapprove, the more he's possibly going to immerse himself in his fantasy game world.
Although, if it is affecting his physical, emotional, and social well-being, maybe he needs to seek a professional about it. |

Haha.. This is definitely an issue in my house as well. I am a nursing student and have a job where I make just as much money as him. I'm not the typical military wife who does nothing all day. The way I look at it. If he can sit there and play video games and ignore me then I don't have to cook him dinner :)
My husband would play World of Warcraft for HOURS! It drove me crazy! We are in our 20's so I guess it isn't that weird for him to play games still but when there is stuff to doaround the house it would drive me crazy! To teach him a lesson, I would eat something quick for dinner, clean up MY mess, do only MY dishes and do MY laundry. This went on for about a week until he got the message. Now when I go to work and he's off he asks me what he can do while I'm gone. When that gets done then he can play all the warcraft he wants. Everybody thought it was cruel but it worked! He doesn't even play when I'm at home. He waits until I'm at work or school as long as the house isn't a disaster area. |

My wife gets pissed at me about it, but then i remind her that it could be worse, at least im at home. There are alot of husbands who go out to the bars all the time,at least im home if she needs me. |

And its only going to get worse in the next generations not just with men but with girls too.
You're going to need to forcefully get him away. Distract him with teasing or something more fun and then unplug the damn xbox and hide it. |

Ack!!! me, too!!! after he realized how annoyed i was because of lack of his attention, he stopped with the video games & now he spends hours online playing poker! i make dinner almost every night and he's on the computer the whole time! if i ask him to watch a movie with me, he will... but he'll have the laptop out & play poker, looking up at the TV every now and then! ahhh!!! |

I would imagine there are lots of women out there feel like you. Maybe you could find something you could do without him.
Mind you, if you both do things on your own instead of together - you might as well be single!!
Have you told him it upsets you? Maybe you could find a compromise where you could spend some time doing something together. If he doesn't want to - well, you may have to address a greater problem than the video games!

Have you thought of playing the games yourself? My husband and I always sit in the office with him on his puter and me on mine and we play or do whatever. Therefore we can spend time together and still have our entertainement as well!?!
I am a big gamer I absolutely love them. Try World of Warcraft. It's awesome. |

It is like an addiction, and you should slowly work into this.
Try planning outdoor activities. If he plays football games, i am sure he would love to go watch football in real life.
Be more active, have more guests at home and if you can afford, take a long vacation. |

My ex-boyfriend would play video games for HOURS and HOURS at a time. Sometimes all day.
When I met my (now) husband, one of my deals was we would never own a video gaming system. Now we have 2 kids and still no Playstation. My kids are doing better in school than most of their zombied-out friends and my husband spends his free time with ME. |

This is not an uncommon problem in marriages today. (Proof that men never grow up) My daughter in law and son have set a certain number of hours that my son is allowed to play per day. Playing video games is a way many men relax. No different than working out or going bowling. The key is to have a balance in your life. |

If you don't like it, then tell him. Make sure you don't accuse him of anything, and tell him why. Suggest other activities to do with him. You could say that it makes you feel lonely when he plays games for hours at a time.....Then comprimise a solution. ;) |

Oh my god, no.
My mom gets so mad at my dad when he play videogames all the time, but she never does anything about it.
I suggest you hide whatever console he has, and then tell him you'll only give it back to him if he spends 3+ days hanging out with you. |

I mean no offense, but let me be blunt. It is time for you to develop your own interests because it is obvious from your questions that your life revolves around your husband. Although it is good to take an interest in his life and activities, and to care for him, to be obsessed says that you have very low self-esteem and believe me, he notices that. Just as confidence is very attractive, lack of it is very unattractive. Have you ever had a guy who you liked at one time become obsessed with you? Didn't that turn you off? If you are wanting his life to completely revolve around you, like yours does with his, it will only make him pull further away. |

I don't mind my hsunand playing games but when vendors it for over 3 damn consecutive hours then acts like I'M the one with a problem?!! It's become a point of contention. Especially when he gets
pissed off if he thinks um sneaking up and watching him.... All that just
makes menthink he is on there cheating |
