Are men turned off by successful women that have there head on straight?

i am a well rounded, down to earth nice pretty looking(cute) woman and i can never get anywhere with men. I dont "do" the drama game and tell them like it is. does that make men not bother cause i am not one of the mean crazy cheating chicks out there?

when i say i "dont do drama" i just mean i dont have time for the game and wont play it and when i tell it "like it is" means just means i have an opinion, no nagging, no put downs. i dont do that.

most men, especially the immature ones, don't want a woman who has her own career/independence. we are mostly looking for someone to manipulate, and you don't sound easy at all. personally, this is one of the reasons I fell in love with my wife so fast in our courtship. she didn't really "need" me, but she wanted me. I knew it wasn't about money, or her being clingy, etc....be patient, you will find a man who will love you for you, not for material crap.

You bet! As for me I can't stand the head games, tell it like it is, and I surely can do without the drama.

No... not all men are like that

Don;t worry, you'll find ur love 1 day

Are you my sister?? LOL.. a lot of men can not handle women like us but trust me it is one out there ..I am also called a mean, pretty woman bc i don't tolerate mess..but my fiance' can handle my personality and also a lot of times they have to feel needed and we are so independent that we can pretty much hold our own and that intimidates some men....they want a drama arena and we won't give that bc we have morals and goals..STAY THE WAY YOU ARE!! TRUST ME THE RIGHT ONE WILL COME

i think when you "tell them like it is" you come off as a "you know what"...

AND YES men dont want a dominate woman...men still want to be the man....its been that was since the dawn of man

When I was dating boys, I did scare the heck out of them. Something about a control thing with them. When I finally met a MAN he appreciated the smart, pretty, in control, career driven part of me. :)
Best of luck to you!

Yes, men are afraid of a successful woman, usually a strong, (excuse the expression) opinionated woman. Yes, you are making a good point. But, may I suggest that you keep on looking because I am certain that there are some men out there who are no afraid of you. Yes, there are some men out there, strong men, who are ready to take you on. You will have a lot of arguments in a relationship but, if you learn to resolve them, you will also have the time of your life. Check out my source which is full of discussions on how to deal with strife in a relationship.

I am similar but in school so I wil be in the same position. I think good men appreciate a strong women, they understand that you have yourself together. But they like it when women allow them to be for lac of a better word be wooed. I am a very strong lady but my friend told me that it's ok to let the man lead sometimes.

Perhaps the men you're associating with, aren't of the same opinion you are.

If you meet a man like you, who is on your level smart wise and career wise then he will appreciate your independence

It's not about "mean & crazy", or so much what the other gals are like. Most guys don't mind if a gal is a decent and successful person. What they do mind is if you act like you're "about" something, whether you are or not. And as for telling them "like it is", just don't get too carried away with that. You don't want people to think, that you think you're "all that". The best bet is to just act like normal people, and try not to make out like you're better than, or above anybody else. I had a date one night, to play pool with a gal. She was very good and did most of the winning, and that was no problem for me. But she gloated about it to the point that it was disgusting. I got the feeling that she thought she was above me, because she a better pool player than I was. I never dated her again.

Maybe they are a bit intimidated by your self confidence. Most women lack this. Maybe some of these guys fear that you are so focused on your career and responsibilities that you may not let yourself fall in love and possibly go down a different path in life.

My husband is not intimidated. Real men are hard to find, and those are the ones who aren't intimidated by a strong woman.

Sounds like you're in a hurry or something. Slow down and wait for him.

I not turned off by successful women who have their head on straight, I'm turned off by bossy, pushy ones that THINK they have their head on straight.

NONAME
hardly, we are turned on by the dumb and helpless air head that doesn't talk too much.

Personally, I love very smart independent women. It means they won't need to rely on me for the rest of their lives for everything. Also they tend to be more truthful because they don't need to fear a guy losing them because they'll have no other place to go, or anything like that.

BUT, I know there are plenty of guys out there that would rather play the "provider" role, or daddy role, because that means they hold the power and control of the relationship.

I'm in a relationship with a woman that makes more money than me and I think the stereotype is backwards. I have no problem with her success, but she has plenty of issues with the fact that I make less than her. Our combined income is going to e well over 100k yet we still fight about money on a regular basis. I'm losing hope that we can have a family because she won't even do half of the housework, and she'll only pay exactly half of the bills while insisting we live a lifestyle that I can't support half of. I would say that men don't care, but the women don't want do what's required when you're the breadwinner. Maybe they're just not wired for it?
