I was in a fight with my husband, and we were yelling at each other. He had a glass full of ice-water at that time, and he got so mad he threw it at me. I was shocked, soaked, and cold. And scared he would throw the glass at me next.

My dad almost got arrested cause he did that to my mom with beer.....it's considered assault & battery........He didn't get arrested because one of the neighbors said she was sitting there the whole time and that it didn't happen. but it did. and he would have been arrested if it were not for the neighbor. |

i cant imagine that throwing water with ice in it at someone would be an offence. unpleasant? possibly, but as long as it didnt cause you any physical harm im pretty sure its not counted as assault. |

The abuse started with the yelling, and if you were nagging him prior to that the abuse started there.
If you get to yelling you should stop talking to each other and calm down; leave the room or let him leave the room - don't follow, then the water gets thrown!
Anything you do to intentionally make your spouse hurt or suffer is abusive; it is the exactly opposite of what you are suppose to be doing.
I really don't care about the legalities of it; you're suppose to love each other! |

No, I don't consider that abuse. I think the shock ended that fight. If he would have thrown the glass at you, yes that would have been abuse. Water doesn't hurt you physically but I think he was extremely frustrated. He'll have to do better than that for you to charge him. |

Yes thats abuse! My dad did the same thing and got arrested and convicted for assualt (he spent 4 days in jail) and is on probation. |
