My former boyfriend called me back yesterday after four years of separation. We were together 4 years and I did not marry him for complex (and stupid) family reasons, but I know I broke his heart. I could never undertake another relationship since then.
He is finally getting married with his actual girlfriend because she got pregnant and he has been with her for 4 years.
All through the years, I tried to contact him, either he responded in monosyllabes or gave me the silent treatment. A few months ago, he told me his girlfriend was pregnant.
He wrote to me yesterday, I apologized for leaving him and he said: «Don't worry, without you I would have never become what I am». He is an extremely successful professional now. He also announced me, for the second time, that they are expecting a child.
He asked me if I wanted to see some pictures, but I am not sure I'll be able to see the pictures with his future wife. WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE CONTACT ME NOW? To see the pictures of his pregnant future wife?
He had always told me he found pregnant women repugnant and that he did not want to have children. He is a bit narcissistic and I can picture him being extremely jealous of his children. He is just too possessive.
Additional Details
I think that the majority of you agree that he is trying to rub in my face what I could have had with him. That's normal, I waited so long to apologize. I am very happy he did not get damaged for life. That means I have to move on with my life. Thanx guys, see what other interesting answers I get.

Maybe he just wants to throw it in your face of what your life could have been like if you had stayed with him.
And he could be fishing around for a side affair with you.

I think he's trying to rub it in your face that he has all this and you don't because you dumped him. He's getting something out of it or is possibly having regrets and can't stop thinking about you.
He also could be looking for a booty call and fishing around. Not cool! |
