I just got divorced in Feb and my ex husband and I decided to put our house for sale (property is in both names). I was living in a DV shelter when we had our settlement conference and right after he moved to a different state and left the house already rented without my consent. The tenants are friends of his and were very agressive when I went to pick up my furniture even when they knew that I was the other owner. I called the cops and I was able to get it. I found out the house is not for sale and they have a leasing contract until August and they are paying $600 a month for a 4 bed, 3 bath home with 3 acres of land. After leaving the shelter, I started renting a small place for almost the same amount. Can I evict the tenants or stop them from renewing the contract they have with my ex?
