There is this friend that I have known for 8 years now and before I got married I was interested in getting to know her but she was in a relationship at the time.She is no longer in that relationship and neither am i and I still feel the same way about her like i used to in the past. I ran into her on Saturday and we started talking about hanging out and I asked her if she wanted to go out dancing or something and said yes. I text ed her Sunday to see how she was doing and what she was up to and it went well so I asked her if she wanted to go get some Ice cream with my son and her daughter and she agreed with no hesitation. My question is how do I move forward with this to show her that I am interested in her without coming across too strong? I didn't kiss her either day because i don't want her to think that I am coming on too strong, from what I explained, would you say that she is interested in me as well? What would you suggest my next move be? I haven't dated anyone since I got divorced and I am kind of rusty at this.

Your pace is perfect. It's only been two days, you would have overdone it trying to kiss her already or getting too deep into how you're feeling. Continue talking on the phone/texting today as this'll let her know she's on your mind. And maybe this evening or tomorrow evening ask her out on a one on one adult date. She's a woman, I'm sure she's already aware of how you're feeling (maybe not the extent, but she knows you're interested). She's obviously feeling the same way, hence her jumping at the opportunity for the ice cream date with the kids (which was a GREAT move btw, you're not as rusty as you think).

I think what you are doing now is right on. You are taking it slow, especially taken into considiration that you both have children. Icecream today, movie tomorrow, dancing - you know, just go with the flow. I am sure if it is meant to be, it is meant to be :) |
