You could get married just fine. But that would be a violation of the restraining order and is a criminal act.

I think you need to do some inner searching on wanting to be with someone who was arrested on domestic violence. I mean, do you really like to be hit? You really think its the one and only time he will ever do it? Doubt it. This month can be your saving grace, allow you to come up with fresh perspective on what you want and deserve.

You can but you both need to consider counseling first because you may end up in a situation where the violence continues after the marriage. Look at the site below for questions regarding that and get the violence under control before making the decision as to whether to trust this man with your life.

Hey, if you want the legal system, the public, your friends, your family and yourself to take you seriously, you are not allowed to marry this guy!
WHat the heck is wrong with your thinking?????? WHY marry someone you have an order against. Past behaviour predicts future behaviour. If you marry him and he beats you, don't look to anyone for sympathy.

You would have to wait for the judge to dismiss the restraining order, otherwise you would be violating the order and with that you would get into some legal problems.
I'd say wait it out, what the rush? Do it the right way any avoid any problems that may accrue.

nope the judge didn't drop the order can you imagine walking in to a court house and filing for a license and as soon as his stuff hits the system he goes to jail not so romantic. Just wait the 6 months and then get married whats the rush any how?

He could get in trouble for being near you, even if you don't request him to get in trouble. The law is stupid, especially about Domestic Violence. I say wait it out...You wouldn't want to risk him getting thrown back in jail for breaking the restraining order.

Get married in a state that you don't have the restraining order in. Restraining orders are only enforced if YOU call the cops about it as well.
