Can anyone advise me on this one?

ok so long story short, last week got full custody of my kids, I was torn into little pieces not knowing what to do, My kids decided that they want to stay with their father, they are 14,11 and 9, by no means I want to break them up, they were very upset when they heard the news and beg not to take them with me, my heart is aching so bad for wanting them back and to some point I understand where they are coming from and i don't want to hurt them even more, on another hand my mom is really pressuring a lot and I know her motive is to get back at my ex, she claims that I don't care enough and a bad mother but as a mother I'm looking into mu kids best interest. I'm really torn apart my heart can take anymore rejection.
Additional Details
Thank you guys, It is really hard form me i don't which direction to go.

This is a decision YOU have to make, so take some time to really look at the situation from all angles. Your Mother MAY think she is helping you by laying extremely hurtful guilt trips on you, but that is the LAST thing you need right now. As hard as it will be to do, you MUST distance yourself from HER right now too.

If you can, try to take a short trip somewhere calm and quiet.

If they've all come to a consensus and want to stay with their father-- they obviously think he's the better, more stable parent.

Leave them there and visit often. Make sure you pay child support too.

Divorce is always hard.I say do what in your heart you can live with.Forget your mom & getting even with your ex. Your kids are not pawns to hurt each other. They are innocent in all this.If you know they will be well cared for with their dad then let them stay with him. Providing of course that you can work out something with him for you to also see them.

Tara
their "best interest" has no comparrison as to whats best for them.
think it through, which situation would be best for schooling, raising a family, nice neighborhoods..its about whats best for them..not for you..and not to make you feel better about yourself.

kids are the future, dont jeopardize their future.

I am really sorry, your heart must be breaking. First off you need to take some time to make your decision. Tell your mother to butt out, this is too important a decision to have her cloud your judgment.

You & your ex need to consider a transition period for the kids. This will be traumatic regardless of how good your intentions are. Good luck

Forget what your vindictive mother wants. Do what's right for you and the kids.
