Can anyone answer this one?

I asked my husband on what grounds he is filing for a divorce for on Friday and he told me he doesn't know. And I said to him that he doesn't know because there is no reason to. We have only been married 14 months but was together for 3 years almost. Can he just file divorce papers and say he doesn't know why we are divorcing? Do you think the judge will order this into marriage counseling to be worked out?

He has no reason for a divorce whatsoever. My husband was well loved by me. He never had any complaints until we had a falling out about his health.

I cooked
clean
was intimate anytime he wanted
I tried to give him children (didn't work long story)
I did his laundry
and I worked my job
and most nights gave him massages
AND I even helped him work on the cars if need be.

One fight he wants a divorce and I found out today he is only doing it because his dad told him not to be back and forth with me. He wouldn't talk to me for a week until today. He kept saying he was sorry and how much he cares about me but he can't risk his dad cutting him off (his dad and mom are putting him through law school) he said he is doing this for his parents. HE IS 30 YEARS OLD everyone. He is under his parents thumb and his dad hates me just like he hated all the others before me. My husband made that very clear.

My story isn't one sided I am being truthful and honest because I want truthful and honest answers. The only thing I left out is my father inlaw hates me because I am black and my husband is white. There are no bad things about me at all I can admit if I am horrible or I have problems. I am 34 yrs old and I just know how to treat a man. I was a mom at 19 to a special needs child. You grow up really quick. Family has always been priority 1 with me. I've been like this since I was a teen. That's one of the reasons he married me.

I'm so sorry for your situation. I'm in a similar one myself with 3 babies 5&under and a "man" that, although he is crazy about his kids and over the moon for them, can't accept "grownup" responsibilities, relying on his parents to bail him out. And absolutely NO communication abilities whatsoever. I have no advice, just empathy. I'm considering trying therapy w/him, again, but skeptical. Take care, you're not alone.

Seems to me that if he is willing to give up a marriage cause his dad told him to, you might want to pack his little security blanket, teddy bear and zipper p.j.'s and send him on his way! How much of a MAN could he be anyway?

Why did you bother to marry some weak, spineless little toad? If your husband has absolutely no reason for divorce then I don't think the court will grant it.

Also, if he does everything that his father tells him to do, then he is going to end up one very lonely man, because his father will make sure that all your husband has is him

You married an immature mama's boy...it sounds like you will be well rid of him. Now you can look for a REAL man!

WOW, so you knew about your husband being a baby still and yet you still married him? That was the dumbest thing you could have ever done!! divorce his a** his choosing his future career and his daddy and mommy over you, THAT'S SOOO WRONG!! move on with your life and learn from this MISTAKE!

Very few states require grounds for a divorce anymore. Usually irreconcilable differences is all you have to say. Sounds to me as if your husband values school more then you. I mean I know school is important but if his parents control him that much maybe it is for the best. I wouldn't want to be married to my in laws.

Well, it sounds like you didn't do anything wrong. But you don't have to do anything wrong, sometimes people just fall out of love. I don't know that a judge can really refuse to allow a couple to divorce.

My gut instinct is that your husband has a problem communicating with you. Even now as he's filing for divorce he can't give you a straight answer. This isn't necessarily something that's your fault but his own. He probably has his own issues that you don't even know about because he never found a way to share them with you. At this point, though, the reasons don't really matter because the end result is the same. I'm sorry for your loss, but honestly, you'll be better off for it in the long run.

In Kentucky you can just say that the marriage is irretrievably broken for a divorce and do not have to give a reason when filing. He can say that it is irretrievably broken because he wants a divorce. That is enough in this state. The list you have is impressive, if you are looking for volunteers for a husband, I do so

you know i could never find a black woman like you. Its obvious your white husband can't handle the pressure its not easy sometime in these mix marriages it takes to strong people and guess what he is not strong. But if you are as good a woman as you say you are let him go and let me and you chat.

ill try to make this as short as possible so i don't waste you time. Is divorcing without a reason a law; No. Not anymore; in the old days, of course, you had to have a very good reason, such as adultery or abuse to file for divorce. Today, courts do not necessarily blame one party for the divorce, which is why there has been a shift to no-fault divorce, which is the only option in many states. It sound like you are a good person from what you have said, but there has to be something your leaving out, if you list the bad things i can help you more. But some spouses use parents as an excuse, it shows a lack of maturity. Most likely that is not the real reason, its just a good excuse to back him up so he doesn't take the front line of it. There is another reason, I'm 100% sure! He just is to scared to tell you. I hope this is enough, if you need anymore just ask, I'll try to help.
