Someone mentioned to me about not knowing whether their guy has the same idea about the relationship as she does, she thinks he's honest with her. But sometimes she feels like he's just taking it all for granted.
I suggested that perhaps he's not just not aware, or self-aware enough, but if she feels he's sincere in his affection there's no reason but fear to doubt him, and fear's not a reason (its not totally logical).
But its tricky isn't it? Trusting that they'r not just taking it for an easy 'suits at the mo', and that they want it to last - like is there a way to tell??
Hell, we might not even know ourselves whether we'll feel the same about our partners in a year's time anyway right? ..so maybe we should ALL be starting off with 'suits at the mo'...but isn't that a bit cold? and then, its not a real relationship right?

Most people are very bad at talking about what they want and need from a relationship and just drift along.
But what is interesting is that I have been married for nearly 20 years and I still have to make sure I'm not taking my wife for granted.
You see love really isn't enough. You need commitment and a willingness to stick at it, good times and bad. And that takes hard work. Feelings come and go, but commitment can last.
