Can we divorce our mom & Dad?

This is the question of 8 years old boy and 9 years old girl who are next door. Yesterday these kids were playing my kids as usual and I was giving them some chocolates and chatting with the kids. Suddenly these kids started complaining in their parents that they never give them chocolates and always hit them and abuse them.. blah blah. So, we have decided to divorce our mom & dad. Can we do that?

I tried to convince them that parents are always good and they know what you need blah blah... And explained them that they can not divorce the parents.

This incidence really made me to think a little. Are these kids think this way because they are really tortured? (I know the parents are not that bad and the kids are also well disciplined and mannered. Or do the kids have that much liberty to protect their individuality? We never had even thought of such things when we were young.

I don't know how to express my feelings on this situation. I am looking for some comments from the readers.

To begin with, 8 and 9 year olds are way to young to divorce their parents. Myself, I'd check to see if their are any bruises on them, and if they are, I'd report them to Human Resourses. Sounds to me like the parents don't want them to have chocolate to keep from spoiling their appetites before a meal. I would do a little more research into their lives before I gave them any advice.

i think you should just stay out of it. it will just cause trouble. you dont know who is telling the truth and who is just exagerating.
