Can you save a relationship after there has been cheating?

I have been good friends with my bf for 5 years and we have been dating for two but he has cheated. He says that it was a rough time and that he was "being a guy" and looking for something better but he knows that Im the best. He was going through a tough time in school but still I don't like the reason he gave me but I love him to death. Should i take him back and if i don't is there any way to be friends with someone you have dated because he is my bestfriend and i don't want to just not talk to him. Please only mature answers. Thank you!

if you were the best, he wouldn't have cheated. He cheated once, he will do it again. If you take him back, that's telling him cheating is ok for you. you can be the best for someone who won't cheat.

Come on girl, you have built this relationship over the last five years and further more you say that you love this guy so much(to death). If you really want to save this relationship it is for you to forgive as you are the aggrieved party. By the way it takes a guy with guts to confess that he has strayed. Only be firm in a no nonsense tone that you cannot stomach his philandering again. You will save yourself a lot by being a winner here.

yes it is possible. but it is all on you. you have to forgive him and you will have to live with any mistrust that comes with it. his answer or reason doesnt matter...it is all about your feelings. if you can forgive and dont want to be w/o him then try it out and see how it feels.
you can always end it later if you cant live with the feelings...
i can tell you from experience there will be times when he isnt answering his cell or email and you will wonder if he is cheating again. it is not easy but it can be done.

i wouldn't. he always just be a guy so i guess he can do it any time he wants.

think about it cuz im sure you deserve a guy that really will be faithful! who knows if he has cheated on you before or if he will again & his exuse "im a guy" bu!!sh!t to me
sorry but cheating is something i do not tolerate because here you are giving your life to his guy while he is screwing another girl

just think about it this way!
if you wanted to be soo much with the wrong guy just think of how beautiful it will be when you are with the right guy!
