If Yahoo as a corporation intentionally or negligently inflicts severe emotional distress upon you, then they are liable in tort. Punitive damages are possible, depending on the nature of the harm caused.
Okay, that's the legal answer. For those of us who live in a place I like to call "reality," the answer is no. |

Now a days you can sue anyone. How could you sue Yahoo unless you work for them or something? Yahoo is used by people for various things. Is a person bothering you? When you sue someone or a company you have to be very specific to win your case. |

uh...hurt by a webservice provider.....
ya might want to rethink your approach to life. |

only if you can convince a judge that the actual company caused you a real damage. However, I assume someone hurt you while using yahoo. If that is the case you would have to try to sue the person who utilized yahoo in the process of hurting you. It is like, I cannot sue Toyota if a drunk driver uses one of their products to run into me. I would have to try to go after the driver. |

You can sue anyone for anything in this country. You need to find a lawyer willing to take the case and then hope a judge doesn't throw it out. But, simply put, you can file suit. Will you win? Hmm.... |

How can Yahoo hurt you?
You CAN sue Yahoo for anything.....whether or not you would win is a different story.
If you were offended here on Yahoo Answers, the odds of you winning against Yahoo is close to impossible. |

You can sue anyone for any reason whatsoever. Your chances of prevailing depend upon the strength of your case and how well you communicate that to the judge and/or jury.
I don't recall the exact language of the Yahoo! Terms of Service
<>.http://info.yahoo.com/legal/us/yahoo/utos/utos-173.html>. However, they probably require you to go through binding arbitration. Some states say this language cannot limit your rights.
Damn, missed another Troll alert. Forgot to check age of profile and points. |

if you ask a question here, and you rec'd answers that made you felt this way, then you should be thankful to those who made it a point to answer rather than sue.
it is your feelings. not intention of those who answered. |
