my ex wants me out of my daughters life and is petitioning the court for primary custody which he has never wanted because i finally was able to move out of my parents with my daughter He never paid child support, uses weed, and his house is a disgusting mess, but my entire family is on his side because I do not want my daughter to see them since they abused me and my siblings while we were growing up. He took her on his weekends which we previously agreed on but now is making up things and my entire family is lieing and backing him up about myself abandoning her when I moved south to train for the army and my boyfriend abusing her but everything theyre saying is lies and now we are being investigated by DCF.. I need support, I have a lawyer and everything but I wanted to know who else has gone through this and what happened. I dont see how the judge will believe me about their lies since its 15 to 1 and I dont know whats going to happen with DCF, what do they use to make their decision? Any one with some story that can be of inspiration?

The only way he can get custody is to prove you an unfit mother PERIOD. Other than that there is nothing he can do. I am sure your lawyer has told you that? Anyway I would gather as much evidence against him as possible (drug use etc.) Have them have him tested for drugs. And as for your family, when that comes up in court explain to the judge what you stated here, that they abused you and your siblings and they are upset with you because you are protecting your child from them. Will your siblings back you up on this? If so, that is a plus. And if your a good mother then don't worry about DCF, they will report in favor of you and make him look bad. I know that for a fact because that is what my ex did to me because he was pissed that he had to pay child support, so he figured that is he reported me, he would get custody and not have to pay. Well that was not the case and he had to come up with the arrearages. Now that really ticked him off.
