First of all, we're 19 and have been together for 3 years.
He started playing poker tournaments recently because he is good and likes it. (he basically got summer tuition off poker, 4k)
We haven't seen each other for a long time, like 2 weeks, because we are in the middle of university exams.
(its under marriage & divorce because I would like mature, reasonable answers...thank you)
So after our last exam tomorrow, we are going to finally see each other on Thursday. I really wanted to spend the entire day with him because ever since March we barely got to see each other, like once every week or two. And now that school is finally over, I wanted to spend the whole day with him.
But now I find out that he is busy after 6 because he has a poker tournament. It's nothing mandatory. That really pisses me off. And I know it's something he can take me to. Because he takes his friends who don't play, and they just hang out. And I KNOW it's not an all guys thing. Whatever, its not that I want to GO! But rather he is only going to see me for a few hours and spend the night away on poker.
Wouldn't you be mad? I don't even want to see him, now!
I really hate the idea of gambling (excessive), because my family has been affected by it. And my bf knows that.
So what should I do? I don't mind him going out and playing poker with his buddies. He has been doing that all the time...even during exam, when we didn't see each other.

You have been together for 3 years, and he is choosing poker over spending time with you? Not a good indication that you are a priority in his life. He seems a bit immature, and this could be an indication that he may have a gambling problem--being good at it is irrelevant. Even good players can have losing streaks. |

He's got an addiction and you will be in second place to it all the time. For him it's the good times because he has been lucky, but that can all change and change quickly. Then what is he going to do? Borrow and steal to get into another game to lose that too? You already know the pitfalls so why are you still with him? |
