We are going through a divorce. He makes over 100k per year. I make 30-35 ish. He has won over 200k in casino winnings- I dont know how much he blew between with losses but I know he has a good amount of money and I have NONE! Do you think a lawyer would help me and go after him? The marriage ended when he assaulted me. He just got himself a lawyer. We have no kids together but he needs to give me something. I have nothing!

i did apply for legal help. I pray that I get it but need to be prepaired JUST IN CASE!

Arizona may well be a 50/50 state but he will hide the cash and winnings. You really need to find a good local lawyer. A.S.A.P. You can ask for him to pay your legal fees and probably will. A good lawyer will explain it all. Find any old tax records you can. At your income you can afford a retainer. Tell him you need cash to get the car fixed...........If he really does make over 100k then your lawyer will find a way to get paid. |

Legally? You cannot force him to pay for your laywer because you are trying to represent yourself. Why would he hire a lawyer that will be against him? |

Usually they want a retainer, but if hubby has as much money as you say, perhaps a lawyer would be willing to work on contingencies. It sounds like hubby may have hidden the money away though, and your assertion that he's loaded sounds more like a hunch than a fact. The lawyer would probably start with a forensic accountant to go through hubby's finances with a fine toothed comb, but beware: hubby seems to have unusual sources of income, and probably even more bizarre ways of moving and storing the money. On top of all that, he may be a liar and the 200K in winnings may be utter nonsense. |

No hunny ........you have to pay for you own legal representation.
Sometimes lawyers have first visits free.....so perhaps you could seek some advice from them?
Otherwise legal aid or representing yourself. |
