I don't know why everyone is picking on your its a pretty interesting questions and its directed (OBVIOUSLY) to those men who have walked out on their family. No where do I see that you implied that all men fall into that catagory. I can tell you this.. My EX husband walked out on me, and he calls me daily now apologizing but I have already moved on. Fact is the grass is not always greener on the other side. Those men that do walk out on their families will realize that and regret it...

I was the one who left for many reasons.

It made me feel like a looser, I struggled with the thought of leaving for over a year. It was the lowest point of my life, I couldnâ€™t function at work, I lost wait, and I was an emotional wreck. I became self destructive, I self medicated with drugs and alcohol, to kill the pain. I cried every day, I cried for my two children. It was the hardest decision for me to make, not because the loss of the relationship, because of my children.

I knew when I decided to put the divorce into action that my x would become a classic women scorned and I was right. Every day since then she has done everything in her power to alienate me from my children. The pain that those two innocent kids have to go through because their parents are unable to act like adults (I will take blame for their mom acting like she does because I realize It was me that wanted out) Is something they will never get over)
No one can understand the guilt a man carrys when he knows what he has done exposes his children to a worl of hate.

Imagine what it must be like to be a little boy who's father, his hero, is made to leave the home when he files for divorce. You know that your father is who you're most like, the person you emulate and hope to grow up to be like.....the person Mommy has renamed *sshole, screams at on the phone and says horrible things about to her family and friends.

Well here Iâ€™m over three years later and I can look back and see that it was the right decision, not only for myself but for my family as well. The kids no longer have to live in a home where their parents are showing them the worst example of a relationship. If I were to have stayed what would I have been teaching them about relationships and love. I would have shown them the wrong way to treat a person you (love). And I couldnâ€™t continue to lie to them, and set the wrong example.

I still to this day have a difficult time not being able to see my kids every day. But that is the consciences of my actions. I still have to deal with guilt.

So, who did it really make me feel? I felt like a failure as a father and as a man.

Only a man who has been through what I have been through can understand the pain and guilt that I carry.

Sounds like you were walked out on recently. If so, do your best infront of the kids, he may come back after calming down.

Well you would have to ask my EX Wife, she walked out on me and our three sons, but thanks for lumping all men in that category.

That assumes a lot. I'm getting divorced because my wife left me to live her own life instead of wanting to work on our marriage. I really hate how on Yahoo Answers, it seems like there are a bunch of bitter women complaining about how their husbands were awful. I was a good husband, and did everything I could for my wife, but apparently what I did wasn't good enough. Apparently, trying to take care of her while in the hospital, make sure I meet her emotional needs, and devote myself to her wasn't good enough. So she cheated on me and left me.

So I have every right to be bitter towards women as a woman would be when their husband does the same thing. The only difference is I know not all women are like that. So am I upset with my wife, yes. Do I take it out on every woman ever, no.

Also, I feel awful because my wife left me.

A man or woman terminates their relationship with thier spouse, not thier children.

And you did lump ALL divorced men into one category. The way your question is worded, you made an assumption that divorced men walked out on thier families. Many men are divorced because thier wives initiated it.
