DO all men cheat ?

Stats on cheating are mostly self-reported and so, maybe reliable or maybe not, but after studying this subject a bit I found the numbers to range from between 20 and 38% of all married men reporting/studied. And personally knowing 3 that I can vouch for, there are at least 3 who don't.

For women the percentages are a little bit less, between 14 and 30%, again, depending upon "who" you want to listen to, and again, with a couple women, those who I am sure of, I have at least a handful for you to prove that not ALL do....... of either gender.

I would say that your mother has had some bad experiences with men, God bless her. She assumes they are all like those she has been hurt by. And I do understand how that can happen.

But I guess, Doc, it all depends upon you... do YOU think you are in trouble here?

I haven't, and won't. I was cheated on in the past, and know how devastating that can be. Plus, if other men do, they aren't all cheating with the same woman, so if all men cheat, all women must also cheat.

Not every guy is the same. I cheated once in my life i was 15 and my ex came over my house and one thing led to another I will never forgive myself for that cause I hurt my girlfriend at the time very badly and I have been cheated on before so I know what it feels like. Cheating is what broke apart my family and it was on my mothers side no my father. I dont think all men are cheaters but I will tell you this. You cant control someone if a person is going to cheat they will and if they decide to tell you or not is up to them no sense in getting jealous or worked up about it cause no matter what you cant control them just enjoy the relationship be careful and make sure the one you give your heart to shows you they deserve it not show you with words show you with actions! Sounds like your mom wants you to have really low expectations of men. Tell her that from your research that only 68.7% of men actually cheat, and that you are committed to finding one from the remaining 31.3%.

She's halfway right, but I really don't believe this is a certifiable fact. Most women who have been hurt and are scarred by past indiscretions, usually say things like that, and it prevents women who have never been cheated on before, and who have decent boyfriends, to start acting really insecure and displaying a lack of trust in their own relationships. Just do your thing and if you ever do get cheated on, deal with that situation at that time. Don't tell yourself that ALL men cheat, because then you will take it out on a GOOD guy, and you may eventually evoke a cheater. Be the best that you can be, a good man will come your way, when the time is right. Best wishes!

No offense but your mother sounds like she's been hurt and scarred a lot and therefor has a pessimistic opinion on love and life.
No, not all men cheat... you just have to find the right one that is willing to work out any problems during the marriage. Not all men get the 40 year itch.
Your mother can only speak from her own experiences and possibly experiences of her friends, but not of the entire male population.
Don't let her negative disposition on love and marriage allow you to believe that fidelity isn't possible, because it is. We live, we love, and we learn for ourselves. Don't let her opinions get in the way of yours.

wow, that just blows me away that your mom would tell you something like that. it seems to me that your mom has been hurt at least once in her lifetime. she should never make you feel like you can never trust a man. every woman should be a little cautious always especially entering a relationship but not to the point that youre expecting it to happen, my parents have been married for 28 years, my grandparents have been married for 54 years and not once did my dad or grandpa cheat. there are good men out there!!
