I completely agree with you. I am currently going through a divorce and there is nothing I wanted more than to fix it. My STBXH cheated on me. He said it was all my fault. I spent his money and was crabby all the time but the truth is he was too lazy to fix our problems. It was easier to start over. Never mind that we have 3 young children that have been affected tremendously by this. If I could fix it I would, but I am not one to share my husband

I agree, that many people find it hard to go and talk about their problems. The feel if it isn't working just get out.... when some counselling and 'effort' may be all they need to get life on track. It may not be easy but would be worth it in the long run.

maybe true, but do you know how divorce rates are calculated?
the number of divorces each year divided by the number of weddings that year.....do you see what's wrong here?
the people getting divorced could have gotten married in any year...
here is the discrepancy: people are getting married at much, much lower rates than they were 15 and 20 years ago. totally skewed statistics!

you are those who are and don't respect the true feelings of their partners and want to run after selfish world and other people by ignoring their husband or wife's sentiments. they don't think that he or she has stood by me in all sorrows and joys and just run after the world and even are willing to give divorce to their sincere partners. people with this kind of mentality should not marry. they just ruin other person's life. they are so mean.

Honestly I have to disagree with you, they are many divorces out their that suffer because of abuse and instead of staying around to see how badly its going to turn out they do the intelligent thing and run the other way. Yes they are those people out there that get married for a few months and then decide its not going to work and then you have your Hollywood drama that seems to be one of the fades that seem to be going around. people that divorce because the relationship is toxic does not mean they are losers and cowards and I hate to say this but fundamentalists for years have said stay, work it out things will get better.

Divorce rate is high because people change. And I don't see anything really wrong with divorces. It's better to live your life to the fullest then to live in agony for the rest of your life! Unless of course there are kids involved, then therapy should be in order!

I somewhat agree with you! But maybe not in such a harsh way.
Everyone can speculate on why someone gets divorced, but the only real answer is because they want to.
I've heard all the excuses. Getting married too young, not knowing each other enough, drifting apart, etc.
Well I got married when I was 19 and I knew my husband for 12 days. I've been married for a decade now, which in today's world is like a century.
The reason why I never got a divorce and never will is because I'll never give up. I took my vows seriously, for better or for worse, and I intend on sticking by them. I will always work at making my marriage better and I'll never take the easy way out.
I think a lot of people are very selfish. It is all about what THEY want and they don't stop to think about what they can do to make their partner's life better.
Of course I understand divorce in cases of abuse. Then yes, you should definitely get out right away. But other than that scenario, you can't constantly run away from your problems.
If you think a new partner will solve them then you are sorely wrong. Second marriages have an even higher failure rate. Because with a new partner, comes a new set of problems.
I also think you have to be happy and secure with yourself in order for your relationship to work.
Divorces these days seem like nothing. Everyone thinks the kids will be fine and they will get over it. No, no they won't. No matter how amicable a divorce is, it hurts the children.
It definitely isn't something that should be taken lightly, that is for sure.

I only partly agree with you.

I think another reason the rate is high is because some people rush into marriage or get married for the wrong reasons.

Then they find out that they have compatibility issues withing the first year and decide to end it.

They should be finding a lot of this stuff out before they get married and then maybe more of them wouldn't end up in divorce.

Yes, I was with a loser for two years and didn't know she was one until our relationship hit a bump in the road. She lied and cheated for months and when she was caught or couldn't stand the guilt any more, she ran right into the arms of her lover.

Loser is an understatement.
