marry for Life?? Really...what if the hubby beats them and spends all the money and verbally abuses them...Would they stay married to someone that treats them with such disrespect?? Really..for life??

For some reason however, when my dad (who is filipino) married an american woman, they ended up divorced.
It's a culture thing. Divorce is unacceptable in most Asian societies. |

Well, my DH WAS married to an asian. They were miserable, but he was the one that had to file.
Typically, marriage she told me is kinda viewed as a necessity. Not something one particularly enjoys, but something that one is expected to endure, as divorce is a taboo in many asian cultures. She told me it is all about apperance and even if you are miserable, no one wants the stigma of being divorced.
This view is changing with the coming generations though |
