NO I think youve been unlucky and very tolerant to stay in a relationship so long where you have been made to feel that way. |

This is common with younger men, but not older men.
Older men have enough experience so that they put the needs of their partner before their own, almost always.
Don't settle for that next time. If he doesn't respect you and treat you like a Queen, or Goddess, and ask to be your "slave" then move on to the next candidate.
I mean, really, you only live life once, why not get a guy that gets all hot and excited when he can treat you like a Queen? There are plenty of them out there.
Let the guys who put themselves first all get together and play poker and watch football, while you are being treated to breakfast in bed. |

Not mine....he takes as much time as I need. Let your other half know your not satisfied. He'll reep the benefits if you are!
PS....
We have been together 17 years! |

No, some men are gentlemen, I am thinking of a particular one right at this moment. And fondly, too, by the way. |

The problem is they dont know there doing it, so hence most do it unknowingly. Even if you explain the problem they have a reason why its ok. Good luck finding one that isnt like that. |

He may be an *** and selfish, but your best bet is to keep living your life of devotion and service. Then his unrightousness is on his own head at judgement. If you take it upon yourself to leave, then you will be judged for violating the covenant that you made with him.
It's a hard road, but maintain your purity and rightousness. |

Holy crap 16 years? why?
And no i think you picked the wrong guy.
Always take a long time to get to know someone
before you move in together and start getting serious.
It only makes sense. |

well, i try to do anything for my girl...we goin to university, and every morning before i go to class i put a flower on her car. i usually ask her what she prefers, and i have found that you girls really sorta wanna be halfway told what to do, but like to be asked about stuff too. like, my girl says she wants me to lead her around alot on things, but i know that she also likes to be asked bout how she feels on those things too...i wich i could say i was the only one like this, but i am sure there are others too, you just need to find him. |

Not all of us are self righteous, some of us believe that everthing should be 50/50. |

It has been my experience that that is only the case with some men. Of course you have explained this to your mate and offered suggestions haven't you? |

You must be generalizing, i moved over 1500 miles away from my home so my wife could be near her family, now who's putting who's needs first, it's just you, maybe you don't put his needs before yours and he is just paying back |

The longer your with the guy the more he seems to come first. Ive been married for 31 years, its always his resturant, what he wants for supper, where he wants to go. I wound like to go to tag sales, and other places he says go ahead, so I usually end up going with one of my girlfriends. I guess you learn to live with their s***, or just egnore it. I've learned to go places with my friends and just forget about it. |

Men are generally self-centered, so don't feel like you are unlucky. I highly recommend that you read a book called "Wild At Heart" by John Eldrige. It will help you understand your man and give you the depth to be able to help him become the person he is intended to be. |
