Do men distance themsleves from a women if they feel?

they are falling for them. I'm dating a guy and I notice that when things start getting emotional he will distance himself from. He had a long term relationship with the other of his child and he he was hear broken for a great while. so he said he doesn't like to get to close to girls due to the fact that he does not want to go thru the heart break again. I know he really likes me (a person just knows when a person genuinely cares for them and likes them) so should Ihang in there and see what happens or call it quits.

6 months ago he asked be to be his girlfriend I said I need more time to see how things will turn out and just kinda go with the flow

I dated a guy like this once. Turns out I was reading him all wrong. He really didn't want a committed relationship beyond semi-regular sleepovers and when *I* became too comfortable and close to him, he'd run for the hills. Then a few months later he'd be back. After the 3rd time, I moved as far away as I could go, and eventually got over him.

If he REALLY doesn't want to get close to girls, then why is he dating at all? Could it be that he just doesn't want you to get any "stars in your eyes" about marrying him?

No. They don't distance themselves if they want to get closer. What kind of crazy logic is that? Listen, I know it's tempting to try to see the situation through a more appealing lens, but honestly, the truth isn't that scary. Why run from it?

Call it quits! For one thing he doesn't want a serious relationship and for another you don't want to deal with all his baby mama's drama. I think he is still in love with her.

If he admits that he doesn't want to go thru the heart break again, he isn't goin to let anyone get close to him. You need to decide if you want to continue seeing a man where there is possibly no future or to break it off with him and find a man that will WANT to have a real relationship with you.

a man who has issues because of his past isn't the best one to choose when u want a relationship, because unless he can get past it he may not make a very good boyfriend. i would just ask him why ask him if its something about u.

It's possible but not likely. When a man wants a woman, there is little that will keep him from her. If he is that damaged that he refuses to let himself get that involved then you don't want that kind of a relationship anyway. Accept that he's giving you all he is going to and if it's not enough move on.

He is Gun shy. It's nothing to do with you. Your dealing with someone with a past (BAGGAGE).

If he is telling you I'm afraid, He's got work to do on himself. He's not healed and getting involved with you is UNFAIR to you. He's not going to be able to give you the type of commitment you deserve.

If People don't work through their issues they will never have healthy relationships.

If you and I (hypothetically speaking obviously) were just dating, and not boyfriend/girlfriend, by *your* decision, then I would keep my distance. I don't want to fall for someone who doesn't want to give "us" a shot.

There's a difference between risking heartbreak, and asking for it.

But honestly, by now I would have asked you again ... or I would have already made up my mind that I didn't want anything more from you besides dating.
