It depends on how you look at it...
Most people never find their soul mate. Divorce these days is at a 52% failure rate. So you are right when you say most people settle for what they can get.
However; if you look at it from the soul mate point of view, it is believed that people are reincarnated and come back to interact with the same people in a previous life. They do this until the prefect their purpose. This means finding a soul mate, correct interactions, and life choices. So, while most people don't find their soul mate the first time around, it doesn't mean that eventually they won't.

Yes, I do believe that. Yes, I found him over 13 years ago. We have been married for 10 years. He was the only one I dated. That worked for me.

I love my husband. We have something that works, and I don't need to date 8 billion people to find out that he's a great man for me. Are there men out there who would also be great? No doubt, but this is the man who is devoting his life for me and I for him.

I never settled though. I never would even consider settling. I didn't just agree to marry him because I was bored or lonely or in need to a man. I married him because together we are the perfect team. It's been nearly a decade now and I wouldn't change a thing.

I feel really sorry for you if this is your excuse for not getting into a relationship.

I had a number of very nice bfs and I think I could have potentially been happy with any of them. But I am pretty easy to get along with, though. I do not regret the choice of the person I married, but I don't think that I would marry "just anyone"...the person has to meet certain requirements in intelligence, religion, personality, and the like.

Everyone settles. Some people get closer to the happy ending they want though. Some people don't.

I think there might be many guys that I would love and would have a great marriage with. However it is hard to find say 10 guys out of the billions around the world. So we arent settling. We just choose the one we find first out of maybe 10 possible perfect mates in the world for us.
I, hopefully, have found the one I will be with for the rest of my life. I am definitely not settling. He is the best guy I have ever dated before. Perfect personality for me. We get along great and he is actually more attractive to me than any other BF I ever had.

I don't think i settled, I'm very happy with my choice but I don't believe in the soul-mate concept either. I believe there are thousands of other girls I could have married and been happy.

I think you are absolutely wrong. God made everyone differently. Out of 8 billion people in the world there is noone who is exactly the same. They all have different personalities and they all would do things differently. For you to think that maybe there are many compatible people with one person you may be right they may just be compatible but it would not make them a soul mate or someone you wouldn't be able to see yourself without.

God would not create a human being without having plan of them meeting their soulmate in their life time. The funny thing is that because of selfish ways or blind site we see right though the person and we end up settling for someone who is compatible.
